This Saturday will see the 2nd clash for the John Currey Memorial Shield to be played between the Maroochydore Swans & the Noosa Dolphins.
After last years thriller at Dolphin Oval resulting in an 11-11 draw in atrocious conditions this weeks forecast for a sunny Saturday will be welcomed by both spectators & the team’s backlines.
The Memorial Shield game is played annually in memory of Maroochydore Swan’s & QLD Country forward stalwart John Currey (who died in 2007) & to celebrate the competitive rivalry & post game social interaction between Maroochydore & Noosa Rugby Clubs. John Currey a Life Member of Maroochydore Rugby Union played over 200 senior games for the Swans from the late ‘80s till 2001. He ran on in 11 Grand Finals, winning 5, all against the long time arch rivals the Noosa Dolphins.
The JC Memorial Shield game is to be played at Maroochydore Swans home ground at 5th Avenue Maroochydore at 3.15pm.
The Noosa Dolphins will be booking a supporters bus for those that would like to come down for the occasion. The bus will depart Dolphin Oval at 1pm. With post game celebrations & presentations the likely return to Dolphin oval will be 7pm. There will be a per person return trip cost for the bus tba once numbers are confirmed to match bus size & cost. JUNIOR DOLPHINS

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

The Junior Dolphins will be enjoying a rest over school holidays. Some junior teams are still training over the holiday break to maintain their winning edge so check with your coach if your team is one of them. The Dolphins Bar and Canteen is still open as normal each Friday from 330pm. We will be having a back to school Sunday Session on Sunday the 12th of July from 3pm with music from Brad and Ben on the Dolphins Deck.
